Hope Cabin CountryJust a short drive north of the Golden Gate bridge is Marin County which is one of San Francisco's out door recreation areas.

Suggested Itineraries
Drive from Sausalito to the top of Mount Tamalpais to take in the cultural, historical, and natural sights and places. Spanish background of Marin, Gold rush era, military, cultural information, plants and animals endemic to the area. 2 hours.

Afternoon Evening Itinerary
Water history. Start in Mill Valley. Visit the old Mill, travel to the Mountain Home Inn (lunch on the deck), hike down into Alice Eastwood, talk mountain Railway, water, dams, O'Shaughnessy, creation of the park, John Muir. shuttle to Sausalito, dinner at one of the waterfront restaurants.

Day and Evening Itinerary
From Sausalito walk about the old waterfront and the maritime area. Travel through the Marin Headlands to see the military reservation and why it was important, how it changed and why it became obsolete. Review the time periods, the Spanish Land Grants, the great Quake, WWII and Marin's importance and support. Visit Muir Woods NM see the giant Redwoods. Along the way view areas where famous events or historic incidents occurred, ie. films, personalities, crimes, tragedies.
