Barcelona is a beautiful city with a lot going for it, from the
mountains to the sea, and everywhere in between. Barcelona has famous
Gaudi architecture to make you wonder what kind of drugs are available
here, and small narrow Spanish streets, cobbled and so tiny they seem to
come from another age. The vibrancy of this city is found on its
streets, with lively areas of the city like Las Ramblas displaying the
talents and wares of the cities occupants.
The public transport system here is excellent, with the Metro taking
you any place you might want to go. You can stop by at the fabulous
Sagrada Familia, look at many other amazing churches, and
interesting artworks around the city. Grab a metro map and your set
- they usually have a full street and tourist map on the back so you
can find your way around. Barcelona is a tourist city, so it is
almost impossible to get lost. There are many parks, squares and
plazas to sit and people watch if this tickles your fancy.
Barcelona is Europe's
number one place to rob or be robbed. Everyone we've ever met
that's been to Barcelona has a robbery story from La Ramblas or
the hostel or anywhere else in the city. People had passports,
wallets, cameras, backpacks, money, clothing and shoes stolen.
Spanish thieves are very talented and Barcelona is a popular
sex tourist destination.
