As we enter the summer of 2004/2005, industries are short of skilled workers as the official unemployment levels reach an all time low of abut 3 - 4%.

Some crops miss being harvested due to a shortage of labour. In response to this, the government has changed the laws so that visitors can once again come for working holidays.

Tourists who work without permission risk being deported and the employer being prosecuted. This however does not deter the many crop pickers who can earn a 100$ a day,  or the sex workers who flock here to work in the newly legalized sex industry where a good masseuse or escort can make an excellent income.

Jobs are advertised in local newspapers, store windows and on various websites.
